No Soap in Gaza

Palestinians of all ages with containers for water surround a water truck

By Mohammed Hussein

Do you know that in Gaza we are living without the most basic means of hygiene?

There is no laundry detergent to wash our clothes, no shampoo to clean our children’s hair, not even a simple bar of soap to wash our hands. What the rest of the world consider everyday essentials have become nothing but a distant dream for us.

Imagine that people here are forced to use only water without any cleaning products, at a time when we are in desperate need of hygiene to protect ourselves and our children from diseases under this siege and these harsh conditions.
